A la hora de acercarse al debut de cualquier artista en muy contadas ocasiones nos encontramos con un trabajo que pueda llegar a calificarse de maduro, muchas otras son las cualidades que pueden adornar los primeros pasos de cualquier grupo, pero parece que la madurez se reserve a aquellos que aguantan cierto paso del tiempo que les dotar\u00c3\u00a1 de la experiencia necesaria para pulir su sonido hasta hacerlo m\u00c3\u00a1s personal.<\/p>\n
Sin embargo siempre existir\u00c3\u00a1n honrosas excepciones, y la m\u00c3\u00a1s reciente representaci\u00c3\u00b3n de \u00c3\u00a9stas la encontramos en My Diary<\/strong><\/em>, el primer trabajo de los indonesios Mocca<\/strong><\/a>. My Diary <\/em>es presentado en su pa\u00c3\u00ads en 2002 donde cosechar\u00c3\u00a1 ventas de cientos de miles de copias, pero no es hasta el presente a\u00c3\u00b1o en el que gracias a Fruit Records <\/a>el disco llega al mundo entero en una impresionante reedici\u00c3\u00b3n remasterizada en formato libro-disco, con tres temas extra y tres divertidos videos. En estos tiempos en los que triunfa el mp3 es de agradecer que todav\u00c3\u00ada queden sellos que se tomen la molestia de cuidar el detalle en sus publicaciones, y Fruit Records con My Diary <\/em>pone el list\u00c3\u00b3n muy alto con el mejor dise\u00c3\u00b1o de los \u00c3\u00baltimos a\u00c3\u00b1os.<\/p>\n Mocca deslumbran con esta colecci\u00c3\u00b3n de temas que les da a conocer al p\u00c3\u00bablico no asi\u00c3\u00a1tico. Nos encontramos al cuarteto presentando un disco que del primer al \u00c3\u00baltimo tema convence gracias a un sonido personal del que en primera instancia destacar\u00c3\u00adamos la siempre presente flauta de Arina, su vocalista, poseedora a su vez de una c\u00c3\u00a1lida voz perfecta para la elegancia instrumental de Mocca.<\/p>\n No resulta f\u00c3\u00a1cil calificar la m\u00c3\u00basica de nuestros protagonistas, no estamos ante un disco de Indie Pop ni ante un grupo Twee. Demasiada f\u00c3\u00a1cil la primera etiqueta e insuficiente la segunda, Mocca despliegan en My Diary un Pop de corte m\u00c3\u00a1s bien cl\u00c3\u00a1sico con unas claras reminiscencias jazz y swing. Nada estridente, todo parece encajar a la perfecci\u00c3\u00b3n aunque a buen seguro al grupo le hubiera encantado vivir en tiempos pasados durante el reinado del gran Ol’ Blue Eyes<\/a>, y es que su m\u00c3\u00basica est\u00c3\u00a1 concebida para ser interpretada en teatros o tranquilos salones, m\u00c3\u00a1s que en oscuras salas de concierto, Mocca son un grupo con clase, qu\u00c3\u00a9 duda cabe.<\/p>\n Resulta dif\u00c3\u00adcil, e incluso injusto, destacar alguno de los temas de My Diary. Estamos ante un disco en el que todas las canciones laten bajo el influjo de un mismo esp\u00c3\u00adritu, y a buen seguro ser\u00c3\u00ada m\u00c3\u00a1s justo hacer una valoraci\u00c3\u00b3n global del disco. Pero imposible resistirse a comentar la dulzura de Secret Admirer<\/em>, un tema que hace que uno se reconcilie con el mundo durante su escucha, pura felicidad hecha m\u00c3\u00basica. What If <\/em>nos mostrar\u00c3\u00a1 la vertiente m\u00c3\u00a1s sosegada y jazzy del grupo, un hit que de haber sido compuesto por Club 8<\/a> estar\u00c3\u00ada en nuestra memoria. El swing y la fiesta llega de la mano de Me & My Boyfriend <\/em>incit\u00c3\u00a1ndonos al baile mientras que When the Moonlight Shines <\/em>invita a recostarnos en el sof\u00c3\u00a1 mientras disfrutamos de cualquier bebida. A destacar entre los tres temas extra de esta reedici\u00c3\u00b3n el festivo My Only One <\/em>en el que la banda demuestra que lo suyo, pese a reminiscencias pasadas, tambi\u00c3\u00a9n puede ser el Pop f\u00c3\u00a1cil e instant\u00c3\u00a1neo.<\/p>\n En resumen, Mocca presentan un notable debut que no debiera de pasar desapercibido en esta segunda oportunidad que Fruit Records nos ofrece. Adem\u00c3\u00a1s contamos con la garant\u00c3\u00ada de que My Diary no fue fruto de la casualidad, puesto que la banda indonesia puso el pasado a\u00c3\u00b1o en el mercado un segundo trabajo que tampoco decepciona en absoluto, pero esa es historia para un futuro art\u00c3\u00adculo. My Diary puede adquirirse en el propio sello Fruit aunque de un modo m\u00c3\u00a1s econ\u00c3\u00b3mico gracias a Popsicle<\/a>.<\/p>\n When the debut of any artist is coming, we can rarely find an album which can be described as mature, but many others are the qualities capable of blessing the first steps of any group. It seems that maturity is reserved to those who support the years which will provide them with the required experience to polish their sound until turning it into a more personal way.<\/p>\n However, there will allways be honourable exceptions, and, we can find the most recent one in My Diary <\/strong><\/em>, the first album of the indonesian group Mocca<\/strong><\/a>. My Diary <\/em>is introduced in their country in 2002, where they achieved sales of thousands of copies. In 2006 the record is known throughout the world thanks to Fruit Records<\/a>, with an amazing reedition (book-record format) with three extra themes an three funny videos. Nowadays, when mp3 succeeds, we should be grateful for the fact that label records take care of their editions, and Fruit Records with My Diary <\/em>is an example of the best design in last years.<\/p>\n Mocca dazzles with this themes collection which comes to light to non asiatic audience. This quartet show a record where every themes convince thanks to a personal sound. We could emphasize, first of all, the warm voice of Arina, their vocalist , she has a perfect voice for the instrumental elegance of Mocca.<\/p>\n It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not easy to describe Mocca music, My Diary <\/em>is not a Indie Pop record and Mocca is not a Twee group. The first is too easy and the second one is insufficient. Mocca use in My Diary <\/em>a classic type pop, with jazz and swing reminiscences. Everything seems to fit perfectly, although the group had loved living in the good old days of the great Ol\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Blue Eyes<\/a>, because their music is thought to be performed in quite theatre and concert hall better than dark concert halls, Mocca is a group with class, that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s unquestionable.<\/p>\n It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s difficult, and even unfair, emphasizing some of My Diary <\/em>themes. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a record where every songs are influenced by the same feeling, and it would be fairer to make an assessment about the whole record. But it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s impossible to resist comenting the sweetness of Secret Admirer<\/em>, a theme that makes you be reouncilied with the world while you are listening to it, happiness made music. What If shows us the quite and jazzy aspect, If this hit had been written by Club 8<\/a>, It would have been in our memory. Swing and party come with Me and My boyfriend<\/em>, this theme invites us to dance while When The Moonlight Shines <\/em>invites us to lie down on the sofa while we enjoy drinking something. Among the three extra themes in the album, the amusing My Only One <\/em>shows that, despite past reminiscences, easy Pop can be one of their specialities.<\/p>\n To sum up, Mocca shows a notable debut which shouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t be gone unnoticed in this second opportunity that Fruit Records offers us. We also have the guaratee that My Diary <\/em>is not a coincidence, because, the indonesian group published a second album last year, this one will not disappoint at all, but that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a story for a next article.
