RETURN TO THE COLLEGE

The rest month began without an special interest about buying records but finally, I have come back home with dozens of cd’s which were bought (most of them) in shops which are liquidating their existences because they are going to close down; bad times for somebody!
I must emphasize the great and indispensable compilation of Los Vegetales, wich were published by Subterfuge Records some years ago, the reedition of the whole work of East Village in a double cd with luxurious appearance, and the obsession of the month, the DVD+Cd of The Go-betweens, That Striped Sunlight Sound. It’s still difficult to see the concert in Brisbane without thinking about Grant McLennan death. The DVD contains Robert Forster and Grant McLennan comments about their songs. Undoubtly, the best buying in the present year.

Me alegra leerte de nuevo!! aunque para ti signifique el final de las vacaciones. Coincido contigo en el cd+dvd de los gobis, a Maruxa y a mi nos encanta y no dejamos de pensar en lo increible que es que ya no este Grant con nosotros :-(.
El de East Village tiene buena pinta, ¿es facil de conseguir?.

Pues sÃ, se acabaron las vacaciones y ya estoy pensando en las próximas. Aunque creo que voy tener que dejarme caer unas cuantas veces por Madrid en los próximos meses, asà que ya hablaremos 🙂
El de East Village solo se puede pillar a través de Excellent o en HMV Japón, yo lo pillé en la tienda. A un precio de unos 24 Euros más gastos, no es muy barato que digamos.
También me hice con el “Quiet Storm” del ex-East Village John Wood y en las someras escuchas que llevo del disco no me ha desagradado.
